Richard "Dickie" McCarthy

Bio

Richard joined Perpetual in 2007 as Director Sales and Relationship Management and became General Manager, Trust and Fund Services in 2012. In 2018, Richard was appointed Group Executive of Perpetual Corporate Trust (PCT) and created Perpetual Digital, PCT’s innovation company. 

Prior to joining Perpetual, Richard worked at Chemical Bank’s Global Custodian business in Cardiff, Wales. Chemical Bank merged with Chase Manhattan Bank in 1996. Richard moved to Sydney in 2003 as Vice President, to integrate the acquisition of Guardian Trust and grow the Australian business. He became VP, Head of Relationship Management at BNY Mellon’s Corporate Trust Division in Sydney following the sale of JPM Corporate Trust business in 2006.

Richard has over 25 years’ global executive leadership experience in banking and financial services, with deep sector knowledge in debt capital markets, managed funds, data & analytics, and M&A and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Glen Dogan

General Manager Sales & Marketing, Perpetual Corporate Trust
Bio

Glen has responsibility for sales and marketing strategies across Funds Management, Debt Markets and Perpetual Digital service offerings. He has spent the past seven years managing the PCT sales team and its growing client base in Australia, the Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas. His strengths are in developing client relationships and executing against business development and marketing strategies - skills he has honed over 20 years in the financial services industry.

Prior to Glen’s current role, he was the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing in Perpetual’s Singapore business, where he was instrumental in growing the company’s Asian trustee business.  He was primarily responsible for helping clients list their fund vehicles on the Singapore Stock Exchange as well as assisting them with cross-border transactions into Australia.

Glen holds a Bachelor of Accounting and sits on the Perpetual Corporate Trust Investment Committee.

Bio

Rod Ellwood is General Manager, Debt Market Services and has responsibility for all debt market transactions.

He has over 20 years’ experience in the securitisation and debt capital markets industry.

Prior to joining Perpetual in September 2013, Rod was Senior Manager, Structured Funding at ANZ Group Treasury, which is part of the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited. He was responsible for securitisation funding including the development and execution of the first covered bond issue in Australia.

During his earlier career, Rod was General Manager Finance and Treasurer of RAMS Home Loans, and was also involved with the establishment of RAMS Home Loans.

In 1998 he founded Longreach Global Capital Pty Limited which was Australia’s first independent asset backed conduit where he served as the CEO for nine years, before returning to the mortgage industry as Treasurer of Bluestone Group until he joined Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited in 2008.

Rod has a Bachelor of Commerce and is a qualified Chartered Accountant with a number of postgraduate qualifications in securitisation.

Vicki Riggio

Bio

Vicki Riggio is General Manager, Management Services, Perpetual Corporate Trust having responsibility for trust management, accounting and investment management services offered to the debt capital markets and managed fund clients in Australia and offshore.

Prior to this, Vicki was the Head of Wholesale Trustee responsible for the delivery of trustee services to a portfolio of funds in excess of $40bn, primarily supporting offshore investment into Australian real assets through Managed Investment Trust structures. She has also previously been responsible for Perpetual’s debt markets trustee operations and ongoing trustee compliance arrangements. Having worked in the financial services industry for close to 20 years, Vicki has extensive experience across a variety of asset classes and trust structures with knowledge across tax, law and accounting.

Vicki is a Responsible Manager for the Australian Financial Services Licences held by Perpetual and has a Bachelor of Land Economics from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Matthew Allen

Managing Director Asia Pacific, Perpetual
Bio

Matthew is responsible for Perpetual’s Asia Pacific business, focused on the Perpetual Corporate Trust and Perpetual Private Wealth businesses, as well as cross border transactions into Australia. Matthew is one of our qualified Trustee Resident Managers in Singapore and also sits on the Perpetual (Asia) Limited board.

Matthew worked in Senior Sales and Relationship Management roles in Perpetual Corporate Trust from 2007 to 2017, including three years in Singapore as Senior Vice President. In 2017 Matthew joined TMF Group as Regional Director Asia Pacific – Business Development, based in Singapore, where he led a team of 70+ sales and client management professionals across 10 countries including Singapore, Hong Kong, China, India, Japan, Malaysia, Australia, Indonesia and Thailand, plus sales responsibilities for the Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam and Philippines markets.

Matthew is an Admitted Solicitor in NSW and holds a Bachelor of Law, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of International Business.

Bio

Jon has over 25 years expertise and experience in technology, software and operations and as General Manager has overarching responsibility for Perpetual Digital. Prior to this role Jon held senior leadership roles at Bravura Solutions including Chief Operating Officer –  APAC and Head of Operations – Australia and Asia. In these roles he strategically led the Professional Services division, including ownership of the Australian P&L, six product lines, 120 full time employees to provide consulting, solution architecture, implementation services and IT operations.

From 2008-2011, Jon was the Head of Professional Services and Operations for SS&C Technologies, spearheading the Professional Services consulting division to provide a range of equity trading platform and portfolio management system implementations. He also provided direction across hosted managed services, while ensuring a high level of software support. He drove exceptional client management executing full program delivery across enterprise system replacement and transformation projects. 
 
From 1995–2008, Jon held multiple roles in Westpac, Challenger, Mariner Financial, Cardif Pinnacle - BNP Paribas London and Jupiter Unit Trust Managers, London, U.K.  Jon also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Prior to founding Laminar Capital in 2009, Laminar’s Managing Director held senior debt capital market positions in global investment banks along with regional ADIs. These included Senior Vice President Debt Capital Markets at Nomura Securities and Lehman Brothers, Director of Debt Capital Markets at Grange Securities and Head of Debt Capital Markets and Funding at Bendigo Bank.
With over 30 years of financial markets experience focused on originating, structuring, and managing fixed income assets, Cameron has a deep understanding of capital markets and treasury management which has helped Laminar become a leading provider of fixed income advice, investment management and treasury services.
With experience gained at global investment banks, broking houses and fund management firms, a strong focus on client relationships and a deep understanding of the operational aspects of the fixed income markets, Cameron’s clients benefit from the knowledge and expertise accumulated over his career of servicing financial institutions, corporate clients and fund managers.
Cameron has a degree in banking and finance from Monash University, post graduate qualifications in applied finance and financial planning, is a Certified Finance and Treasury Professional and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Phillip Blackmore

General Manager, Transaction Management and Governance
Bio

Phil serves as the General Manager of Transaction Management and Governance. His team handles the onboarding of new funds and vehicles for Responsible Entity, Wholesale Trustees, and Investment Management, and oversees the governance of appointed service providers. Phil also has a Pan-Continental Trust (PCT) wide remit with respect to governance. 
Phil previously managed the Wholesale Trustee business and spent nine years in Group Risk, where he was responsible for designing and implementing Perpetual’s enterprise Risk Management Framework. Phil brings extensive fiduciary, risk management, and client-facing expertise to his role.
He is an Executive Director on several Perpetual subsidiary companies, a responsible manager for Australian Financial Services Licenses held by Perpetual group companies, and an independent Compliance Committee member for Russell Investment Management Limited.
Prior to joining Perpetual, Phil worked at IAG Asset Management, Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley, and Westpac. He holds an MBA from the University of New South Wales, a Master of Arts in Risk & Compliance, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Matthew has responsibility for product development and other strategy and innovation initiatives across Perpetual Corporate Trust’s Debt Markets, Funds Management and Perpetual Digital businesses.

Matthew combines extensive experience in capital markets and product management together with a deep knowledge of modern cloud technologies. He deploys this set of skills to lead Perpetual’s development and management of fintech solutions, supporting the banking and structured finance industries.

Matthew has been with Perpetual since 2006 and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Charterholder.

Bio

Huw has responsibility for leading business development, sales strategy and client relationships for Perpetual Digital; Perpetual Corporate Trust’s (PCT) innovation company.

Huw has extensive experience working with financial services and banking organisations – both in Australia and internationally – to help them digitally transform to regain and retain their strategic advantage.

At PCT Huw helps businesses become more effective, economical and efficient while at the same time maximising cyber security and ensuring regulatory compliance.  He does this by helping clients solve complex operational challenges to support their business strategy, enabling them to move away from legacy technology, manual processes and spreadsheets onto cloud-based Software-as-a-Service.

Huw joined Perpetual in early 2019, having spent the previous 10 years in software account management specialising in process automation, enterprise architecture and operational risk management within banking and financial services sectors. Huw holds a Batchelor of science (BSc) in Ocean Science.

Bio

Lynsey Thorrington is a Senior Relationship Manager and is responsible for relationship management within the debt capital markets.

Lynsey joined Perpetual in 2007 as part of the Debt Markets, Transaction Management team. She has deep expertise and relationships in this segment having worked within Debt Markets in Australia for over 17 years. Prior to joining Perpetual Corporate Trust, Lynsey worked at BNY Mellon - Corporate Trust Division and JP Morgan Corporate Trust in Australia.

Lynsey holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Wales, Swansea (LLB Hons) and has with a number of postgraduate qualifications in securitisation.

She is also a founding member of the Australian Securitisation Forum’s Future Leaders and Young Professionals Committee and active participant of Perpetual’s Diversity Counsel.

With 20 years’ experience in the fixed income market, Emily helps PCT clients unlock new fixed income opportunities and develop solutions suited to their needs.

Prior to joining Perpetual Corporate Trust, Emily worked on the ‘sell side’ of Fixed Income Global Markets, across Debt Capital Markets including primary and secondary bond and credit issuance, derivatives, cash products as well as the debt markets exchange platform Yieldbroker (Tradeweb).

Emily is a highly-respected client relationship manager with excellent account management skills and an extensive proven track record in developing new business opportunities for clients.

James Karabesinis is a Sales Associate within Perpetual Corporate Trust's Sales and Marketing team, supporting new business development across Corporate Trust's Funds Management business. 

James joined Perpetual in 2023 as a member of our graduate program where he spent time in our Debt Markets business before joining the Sales team. Prior to joining Perpetual, James has experience working for both the State Government and UK Department for International Trade. 

James holds both a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of New South Wales.

Bio

Liam Smith is a Sales and Relationship Manager in Perpetual Corporate Trust’s Sales and Marketing team. 

Throughout his tenure at Perpetual, Liam has gained valuable experience in both the wholesale Trustee team and the Sales & Marketing team. He has a deep understanding of the technical aspects of trusts and their various regimes and a proven ability to help clients navigate legal, regulatory and operational frameworks. 

Prior to joining Perpetual, Liam was at Mainstream Fund services where he was employed as an IMA analyst. His responsibilities included the onboarding of new clients, conducting intricate reconciliations, managing trade settlements, and overseeing tax reporting. 

Liam holds a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Finance, from Griffith University.
