For the second year in a row, the Perpetual Concentrated Equity Fund is Money magazine’s Gold winner for Best Australian Share Funds 2010. Perpetual Concentrated Equity Fund invests in quality industrial and resource shares and other securities.

The Awards use ratings from those highest-rated by three leading research houses Morningstar, Zenith Investment Partners and Standard & Poor’s as a basis to select winners. 

The judge’s selection was based on a retail fund open to new investment with a minimum initial investment of $25,000 or less. Funds were ranked according to the total points awarded for their rating by each research house. A further filtering process was then applied. The judges commented on the Fund’s 11.4% pa return since inception, which indicates strong long-term performance. [Money Magazine, Dec 2009/Jan 2010]. Performance data is at September 30, 2009.

Perpetual was named as the AFR Smart Investor Blue Ribbon Awards Fund Manager of the Year 2009.

Two of our funds also won in individual categories:

  • Best multi-sector balanced fund – Perpetual’s Diversified Growth Fund
  • Best personal pension fund – Perpetual’s Balanced Growth Fund

The Awards used ratings from research house Morningstar as a basis to select winners with the judges reviewing elements such as fund managers’ investment process, risk management and performance. The Blue Ribbon judges commended Perpetual’s investment team for their method of blending underlying asset classes and their depth of skills and experience.

Perpetual was a joint Gold winner for Money magazine’s Best Australian Share Funds – Perpetual’s Concentrated Equity Fund.

We were also recognised as finalists in the following awards:

  • Best Balanced Funds – Perpetual’s Diversified Growth Fund
  • Best Growth Funds – Perpetual’s Balanced Growth Fund
  • Best Mortgage Funds – Perpetual’s Monthly Income Fund
  • Best Smaller Companies Fund – Perpetual’s Small Companies Share Fund

      Perpetual Limited won Limited wonMoney magazine's Best Fund Manager award  in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

      The award was based on ratings from three of Australia's leading investment research houses - Standard & Poor, InvestorWeb and Morningstar. High ratings for Perpetual's solutions in many individual manager fund categories (as detailed below) led to this win.

      Perpetual recently won the Financial Review Smart Investor Blue Ribbon Award 2007 for the following funds:

      • Monthly Income Fund
      • Australian Small-Cap Shares Fund

      The winners were chosen by Morningstar and RiceWarner following a filtering process, omitting funds that weren’t recommended by Morningstar or had poor historical risk-adjusted returns over the short and medium terms.

      To be eligible the winner had to be an open retail unit trust with more than $5million in funds under management.

      Perpetual’s Monthly Income Fund won the Blue Ribbon Award for its delivery of stable returns for investors in mortgage funds.

      Perpetual’s Australian Small-Cap Shares Fund won the award for the use of quality stocks and the ability of the Perpetual Investment team to leverage its extensive resources when putting investors’ funds to work.
